How To Attract Your
Perfect Clients


There are many practical and tactical steps you can take to attracting the right clients for you and your business, but if you’ve been around here long you know I’m more about mindset. Because mindset is what PRECEDES actions. It is the place that tactical and practical steps are born, and it informs where they end up!


As a branding and design professional for over 20 years, I have learned all kinds of nuances about the art of attraction, but the problem with that most of the time, is that you skip the step of determining exactly who you want to attract, and WHY you want to attract them, and even more importantly than that… and to WHAT END?


And that, my friends, is UBER important.


Because oftentimes who you think you want to attract, and the reasons why, and to what end, are based entirely on other people’s rules, meaning what you’ve learned or been told “works best” or “can work for you in your business”, instead of what you really want.


And that is why my #1 hands-down top recommendation for attracting your perfect clients is: BEING MORE TRUE TO YOURSELF.


Say what, Sunni?? That sounds really backward from everything I’ve learned out there! Shouldn’t I try to pin down my ideal client, and get inside their heads, and be more like them so I can attract them? Shouldn’t I try to figure out what they want and then figure out how to give that to them so I can be successful??




If you want to spend the rest of your business life trying to guess what people want and give it to them, then yah. Go right ahead!


But I don’t. I am not saying my way is right, or better, but I have built my own business and success talking mainly and solely to the target audience that is: ME.


Right about now I can see some of you throwing your hands up in the air, enraged and thinking I’m being a fool and that that is just not how it works. But hear me out.


I speak to what I need to hear, or what I would have needed to hear at various stages of my life. I ask myself what I need to feel and know from a business, what motivates me, what turns me off, and what turns me on, what inspires me, and what delights me?


You will definitely not attract ALL the clients this way, but you will attract YOUR CLIENTS this way. And if you don’t think there’s enough of “your clients” in this world to be a huge and raging success… there are literally billions of humans on the planet, so check your math, love. 😉


But the absolute best thing about it – without a doubt – is that you won’t have to spend your entire life putting your power in other people’s hands. Endlessly guessing what they need and want, and never quite feeling it’s enough.


Decide what YOU need. Decide what YOU want. Decide how YOU want to offer your gifts and your talents or your products. Decide what works for you, who you are as a person and business, and you will make yourself a life that feels like you… and therefore build yourself a joyful and fulfilling life


Your hardest work around this will be believing you can actually do that.


You have been trained to listen to other people over yourself. You have been trained to put yourself 2nd or last. You have been trained not to count your needs and your wants, and that’s why so many business owners feel like they’re constantly hustling, and never arriving.


But when you build your business, your products, and your services around what you love and value, then you naturally love and value your business more, and when you enjoy it, and it flows more with your nature, you profit more. You get more done more easily. You allow more in because it works with you, instead of against you.


If you build it around other people’s needs and wants, you will eventually lose yourself in it, and you will feel trapped.


But Sunni, what about in cases where you really do have to attract a different audience?


We’re not talking about working in the marketing department for a big company here, because if we were, then obviously yes, you’d need to do this. But even when I am doing client work for branding, I use my natural emotional intelligence and empathic nature to feel into how “I” would feel if I was in said target audience’s shoes. I gather and feel into their viewpoint from my OWN life so that it’s coming from a REAL and therefore genuine place. Because that is what makes it successful.


Truly lasting and successful businesses stake their claim as who they are, and then they modify with the times, but they don’t FOLLOW the times or people’s preferences like sheep. 


Instead, they stand as the Shepard. They stand as who they are and they evolve over time AROUND who THEY are, and that’s what makes them memorable and lasting. And it is also what keeps them from getting burnt out and throwing in the towel completely.
